Description
The Sardar Patel Planetarium is situated near the main gate of the Sayaji Baug (Kamati Baug), Vadodara (Baroda). It is the Oldest Planetarium that was opened for Public. The Planetarium runs three shows every evening except Thursdays. It has a total seating capacity of 200 seats. On request, the planetarium also arranges Special Shows for Schools/Colleges or Institutes. Besides, reacting the immense progress of India’s space programme, it conducts several audio-visual programmes on the earth’s planetary system. The Planetarium functions six days a week and runs three shows daily. The shows are conducted in 3 different languages – English, Gujarati, and Hindi. A one-hour session covers audio and video clips of the Solar system, satellites, astronomical history as well as India’s space-age activities.
